Competition rules
1 Can apply young directors and companies not recognized by the Ministery.
2 Directors and companies have to submi new production shows.
3 All the project have to be based on contemporary authors’ texts.
4 The show has to be performed by a maximum of 8 actors.
5 When presenting the project, the director and the company have to state the period during which they intend to present the show Nuovo Teatro Nuovo and Teatro Pubblico Campano will provide the selected projects with:
a avaliability for 40 consecutive days of sala “Assoli”
b lights and sound equipment
c n° 1 sound and light technician, for set-up and performances
d scenical equipment and repertoire costumes available in Nuovo Teatro Nuovo
storehouse or given by others companies willing to adhere to the project
e press office
f promotion office
g advertising, playbills, posters and billsticking
h marketing
i n° 6 days of reruns
Are also forecasted:
1 weekly meetings with the audience;
2 continous presence of 5 young critics (one for each production) who will edit an issue on the work done over the year that will be pubished by Ancora del Mediterraneo;
3 presence all over the period of scholarship holders and trainee from different Universities. They will follow the development of rehearsals and, at the end of the year, will elaborate studies on the staged shows that could be inserted in the issue;
4 lectures and panel discussions on subjects related with theatre and themes tackled in each show.
Committee
The proposals will be submitted and considered by a committee that will choose the best projects.
The committee will be composed by:
1 representative of the Local Authorities
2 representatives of national theatre circuits
2 representativesof naztional innovation centres
1 theatre critic
1 representative of E.T.I.
1 representative of Nuovo Teatro Nuovo
1 representative of Teatro Pubblico Campano
1 representative of Università di Napoli “L’Orientale”
All the partakers have to have a company recognized by the Ministry as a tutor. The companies that at the moment of the application have already a tutor have to communicate it. The committee can spot one for the companies that are unsupplied with it.
It is obligatory for the tutor to pay the fee and the contributions for actors and directors during the rehearsals in Naples, taking into account that the box office takings, net of the Association of Italian authors and publishers fee, will be within the scope of the tutor.
The committee will take on bringing to the attention the shows considered as the most interesting and on easing their distribution.
